Looking Back at the January 2016 Challenge

Here is my "collage" of the 30 paintings I completed this month. In truth, I actually painted Thirty-nine paintings in January if you count each canvas, i.e. a triptych equals three paintings. I cannot believe I pulled it off. I decided to create my collage using the photos of my paintings in the room settings. I love them!

Thanks to the 1403 artists who painted with me this month. You rock! Continue to paint. But do it on your own schedule and take on some new projects and challenges. You deserve it!

Dear Leslie,

Thank you for again organising the 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge. Listening to the AHA show I felt so inspired to join in and in hindsight I’m so happy I did and I learned so much!
I’ve been working as an artist since 2000 but always remained quite insecure and this was such a great push! Of the paintings I did the last month I haven’t sold (yet) but I got so much positive reactions and people are requesting an exhibition showing all 30 paintings! So working on that! :D

A few lessons learned: I like working on projects. I like working on not too many things at the same time. I can (sort of) handle aquarelle paint. I can handle the pressure of having to finish a painting every day for a longer period. I enjoy creating and I can do this every day.
Creating makes me happy and no matter what people from the past or present have told me, I am an artist!

Thank you Leslie!!

Dear Leslie
Congratulations on finishing so many paintings. And also on your new approach to taking on commissions - I thought that was a really interesting read this month.
And of course thanks so much for organizing this wonderful event again this year. You've inspired many and you've made possible for us to connect too.
I hope to be back to follow some of the links to find out about other artists.
Hurray for all who participated and who made making art a regular (daily) practice. Thanks all!

Thank you once again Leslie for hosting this again. This really gets me jumpstarted and this year was especially fun selling some on Etsy.
I've also looked forward to seeing your beautiful pieces and how you cleverly virtually placed in rooms to compliment them!

Hi Leslie,

Thank you so much for organizinig this event. For me it has been very important, to get myself up and painting. I've met some really nice fellow-painters along the road: so nice to realize I a not alone in my painting!

I will certainly be back in september!
I wish you a lot of luck in the meantime with your own painting!

Thanks again,
Simone

Leslie, I have enjoyed the challenge, and thanks for organizing it. It was perfect for January, after the holidays and during the winter when I can't get outside to paint!

I have finally photographed my paintings in more detail, and set them up in a website on behance.

If you have liked my paintings, please visit the website and comment.

Thank you again Leslie, this has been a life-changing event.

This was a welcome project in a difficult month. Instead of dwelling on losing my studio every hour of every day, knowing that I need to finish a painting every day kept me busy. Thank you, Leslie!

just stopped back to thank you for hosting this event , I learned a lot about myself as an artist .had to dig deep a few times and also learned to let go of pride and post some paintings I was unhappy with .. now that I have managed to slow down again I am back to painting at a more relaxed pace . thank you Leslie
